This is a quick, cute read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I will be honest and tell you I wasn't really drawn into the story until all the players involved were introduced and we got to see the group dynamics.I absolutely loved Jesse, I might go so far as to say I "fell" for this sweet, loveable, imperfect hero. He's tall, dark, and handsome to a T with imperfections that humanize and make his character relatable. Unfortunately, Lucy is where I have had the biggest problem with this book. She is exactly what I don't like in a female lead, not confident, clingy, and dramatic. Hello girl, supposedly you won an Oscar and are a hotshot in Hollywood, act like it! You're a badass, be a badass. I will give Lucy credit for improving slightly as the story progresses.
I absolutely adore the cast of characters that surround Lucy and Jesse. These are the best kind of friends and family to have and in my opinion they make the book. They're the keep it real, call you on your bull****, help you live your dreams friends and family. I hope Grandpa Russo sneaks in some more, he'll make it interesting.
While I wasn't immediately drawn in to the story, when it finally happened the author did an outstanding job of painting the picture of her characters lives and keeping my attention from that point on. I am definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series. I'm particularly interested in seeing what happens with Sera. Is it Cage? Ben? Xander? I guess I'll have to wait and see.

HOT HOT HOT! That sums it up! I actually enjoyed this book. The chemistry between Lucy and Jesse was truly amazing! I loved all of the side characters....wish I had friend like that! I even enjoyed the parents! You can definitely tell they care for their children. This book had so much sex I was blushing....lol. Anyway...great read...fast...couldn't put it down! Worth it! Already one clicked the second book...Blush!
I'm not going to say it was gripping because it did take me three tries before I buckled down and said, let's do this. I literally started the book, set it aside, read another book, picked it up again, set it aside, read another book, then just picked it up and said, GO. for that it gets four stars because I should have been gripped by the story and characters right from the get go. right?
FINALLY, after the dynamics of the whole group came into play I was really getting into it. at times I was getting frustrated with the whole fangirl theme and really wanted that to stop because for me it was cutting into the falling in love scenario. then there was the whole groupie whore thing talked about over and over and calling the H a man whore over and over that began to bug me. OK he slept with groupies. at what point do you stop making him feel like crap after you really haven't been acting much different even though he is treating you different from any of them. just BUGGED me to death after a while.
I stayed plugged in because I loved the interaction of the secondary characters. everyone really fit so seamlessly, and there were some really great belly clutching laugh out loud times. the sex scenes are pretty much a 5 plus and the dirty talking hero.....well yeah. it was it for him and the guys that I continued to read.
I really can't wait for their stories, that's what I'm hoping future books are about....cause they really are going to be fun to watch., and yes I would continue the series just for that.
I would have loved the H POV MORE, like from the beginning. more and more I find myself liking the H much more, ok, totally more than th h.....and I would much rather hear from him than her. most of the time I find the h needing to redeem herself rather than the H. I'm not understanding the repetitive theme of weak, broken, untrusting, judgemental heroines. you do not have to be these to fall in love. let's get over it. not everyone has to be SAVED to find their love match.
I'm desperately seeking a romance novel where two people meet, get to know each other, fall in love and fight for it without the over kill reactions of running away, breaking up and so on. for me it's getting overdone. I'm looking for THAT book with a little bit of drama and a whole lot of love. give me a jealous ex who gets put in their place without the whole pack up and run off scene. go alpha and show EVERYONE she's YOUR girl. stand up for YOURSELF and claim YOUR man. kick the jealous ex to the curb for him. where are these strong characters. you can't have a romance or love story if you're not willing to fight for it.....ok sorry for my rant. but if you know of any books out there like I'm looking for could you shoot me the titles.
This was a very enjoyable book!
Lucy is seventeen when a chance meeting with her idol Jesse Kingston, the lead singer in Falling Down, occurs in an airport. Years later, she has an established career as a well known actress. She takes a job in a music video without her knowledge that this is Falling Down's video. And so they meet again, and the spark that was there several years earlier is back in full force.
Jesse invites Lucy to spend a couple of days with him hanging out and of course, they are very mutually attracted to each other. And Lucy is ready to let go of her acting career and resurrect her old band.
Add to that Jesse's dark disturbing past and Lucy's always putting herself down, well, yes, the problems are many. Add to that they each look at each other wondering why....
"....I just sat her and realized I'm in love with Luciana Russo, Academy Award-winning actress, god damm. Lead singer of Blush. She's so far out of my league it's not even funny."
And Lucy feels the same way. I needed to take their head and bonk them together!!
As the journey with her new band and the members of Falling Down get to know each other before they tour together, it's quite fun to see how these guys all interact. There were times when I felt like I was sitting there hanging out with all of them as their fun banter made me laugh out loud.
This book had it's ups and down, made me sad, made me angry.....but I loved it!!
